ELCE Hernia Foundation

ELCE Hernia Foundation

ELCE HERNIA FOUNDATION was launched by Shri S. Sasikumar, Regional Passport Officer, Coimbatore, at ELCE Clinics premises. one of the goals of ELCE Hernia Foundation is, creating awareness in the masses and offering hernia surgeries at affordable costs. Hernia is a protrusion of abdominal content through the weakness of abdominal muscle. Bulges may appear in the abdomen – both upper and lower areas, umbilical area and groin area. Incisional hernia follows any previous abdominal surgery and is mostly seen in women after caesarian or open uterus removal surgery. The bulges may appear and/or disappear from time to time but will surface after a while and continue remaining as a bulge and cause obstruction and then have to be surgically removed. Hernia cannot be cured by medicines. Surgery is the only option. Among surgical options, there are 2 types of procedures available – open & laparoscopic. Laparoscopic techniques involve minimal pain, blood loss and scar and the patient will have to be hospitalized for a very minimal period of time and can get back to his/her routine much earlier.

Dr. P.S. Rajan, Chairman of ELCE is equipped with over 20 years of experience in laparoscopy and endoscopy. He is a pioneer in day-care laparoscopic procedures. He has done hundreds of live demonstrations of laparoscopic hernia repairs in national and international Conferences and has been a faculty for various Laparoscopic Training Courses across the country. Under his leadership, ELCE can boast of many achievements in the past one year such as mentioned below:
