Dr. P.S. Rajan, a well-known Laparoscopic Surgeon & Interventional Endoscopist in Coimbatore. Born from humble weaver’s family in Tamilnadu after losing his father at his 14 years of age. He had to go through a journey to come up. The Post completion of Medicine and Masters in Surgery at Coimbatore Medical College, he gained experience being a primary student of Prof. C. Palanivelu, one of the domain’s distinguished Lap surgeon. Prof. C. Palanivelu has been his mentor at Gem Hospital for almost 20 years.

- He is the first surgeon in the world to perform video conferencing live NOTES to Seoul, South Korea, witnessed by more than 1000 endoscopic surgeons in the year 2011.
- Among his recent works, POEM (Per Oral Endoscopic Myotomy) Hellers Myotomy is been performed totally by endoscopic approach leaving no scar for Achalasia Cardia.
- He has been awarded by our former president Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam for being the first surgeon in South India to perform this particular innovative advanced procedure.
- He has been honoured by former PM Shri Deva Gowda with ❝STAR OF INDIA 2015❞ for his medical work and corporate social responsibility to the public in the name of Project YES (Your Endoscopy Screening).
- One of his accomplishments with his team is, conducting 6897 free endoscopy screening programmes to pick up the early gastric cancers as they are completely curable in that stage in 41 camps.
